Bylis Whispers is a cultural initiative by Carabela Books that blends residencies, creative retreats, and the creation of a rural library in Hekal, a village near the historic Illyrian city of Bylis. What began with a cultural visit in May 2023 has grown into an ongoing collaboration with local groups, educators, and storytellers.

Rooted in books, oral history, and shared expression, Bylis Whispers connects generations and reimagines heritage through creative gatherings, photography, and seasonal workshops. At its heart lies the future Bylis Community Library—a space for learning, listening, and belonging in a village long without a public cultural home.
